This is the home of Gwinnett County, Georgia, and some of the best communities in our fine state. The governmental seat of the county is the city of Lawrenceville, with its next door neighbor to the east being the rapidly growing town of Dacula, and just to the northeast, you'll find the thriving new township of Hoschton (see Google maps link to this location). Although I am originally from western North Carolina, I feel as though the Lawrenceville area has become my true home. Over the recent years in Gwinnett County, we have seen tremendous real estate growth, even by national standards. Our county population is now well over 750 thousand and growing with no let up in sight. 

I have spent the last 30 years working here locally in the real estate profession, and the past 10 of those, doubling as a residential Mortgage consultant, living, and raising my family in this same beautiful region of the state. 

Roughly 25,000 newcomers have been moving just to Gwinnett County each year for a lot of different reasons, but I believe they are staying and making this part of NE Suburban Atlanta their new home for a few of the following:  

Weather: NE Suburban Atlanta's four distinctive seasons are each delightful, with minimal extremes in temperature. Due to the elevation above sea level, at about 1,000 feet MSL, we are just close enough to mountainous terrain to make our climate much more enjoyable than just a few miles to the south. Our spring colors would rival anyplace in the world with dogwoods and azaleas like those seen at the Masters’ golf tournament in April. Our fall seasons are ideal for leaf peeping with some of the most radical natural colors possible. Our winters typically only get a dusting of snow. If you love the great outdoors, we have the ideal year round weather for every sport. Some of the largest fresh watershed lakes in the Southeast are all just a few minutes away. 

Business Opportunities: With the explosive expansion of population here in Gwinnett County comes the opportunity for new businesses to thrive. Our construction industry has provided the backbone support for the many families who have relocated here. For the most part, ours is not a highly manufacturing based economy. Gwinnett County's largest employers are Public Schools, Grocery/Food Service, Banking/Finance Institutions, Shopping Malls, assorted retail sites. If you like to shop, you’ll certainly love living in our communities.  

Education: Over the past 20 years, the Gwinnett Co. Public Schools' System has literally averaged building several new schools per year, opening to accommodate our tremendous growth. With all our newer academic facilities being built, containing all the modern electronics and sophisticated IT capabilities, we have attracted very quality educators for our students. Our schoolls are highly rated within the state of Georgia as well as on a national basis. My wife and I have personally raised our six young adult children, now ages 21 to 27, in the local public school system. With our statewide supported “Hope scholarship” funds, all high school graduating students who maintain a “B” average are eligible for college tuition support. Many people have made this area their home strictly because of our quality public school system. In all of Gwinnett County, there are more than 111 public schools, 16 community schools, with still many more under construction. 

Transportation:
We are so fortunate in Gwinnett County to boast a very modern and constantly improving highway/road system, with positive county government, always planning for growth with regards to roads and transportation enhancements. This entire area is strategically positioned right between two major arteries that run Northeasterly (I-85) and due East toward Athens (State Route 316). Not that commuting anywhere in the Northeast Atlanta metro is an easy task, but by comparison to other suburban communities, we at least have two superior routes that accommodate heavy traffic very well. In addition, we have a very convenient major airfield (6,000 ft strip) that services corporate jet traffic by control tower. Lastly, we have a very modern fleet of new County-transit authority buses that aid with intersecting commutes from many areas. We also have a great railway system for train passenger and freight service passing through the middle of our county in the heart of Dacula and Lawrenceville.
